It doesn't matter where you live, or what day of the week it is, make sure you get outside. Find a hiking buddy and go and explore your gorgeous surroundings. Take your dog for a walk in the park. Kick a ball around with friends. Go for a swim. Whatever it is, just get outside and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful surroundings!

I hear girls all the time saying that they don't want to do weights because they don't want to get any 'bigger'. Did you know that muscle tissue burns three times as many calories as fat, even when you’re sitting doing nothing. Muscles burn calories around the clock — yes, even when you sleep — at a greater rate than other body tissue. That’s why you need to keep making and maintaining muscle as you age to keep your body’s ongoing fat-burning metabolic engine revved up and ready to go.

Many people complain about not being able to afford a gym membership or fancy equipment. But the simple fact is - you don't need any of that to get into shape. You have everything around you that you need. You just need to open your eyes and see it. For example, when I see a park bench, I see a perfect place to do triceps dips, elevated push ups, elevated lunges, butt-tap squats, crunches, and much more. So OPEN YOUR EYES and have another look at everything around you!

It is very important that when you workout you nourish your body appropriately to get the most out of your work out and help your body perform and recover at its maximum potential. This is a great 20 minute workout that I love to use if I need a quick cardio hit and don't have time to get to the gym. The best part is, you can do it anywhere and anytime! So no excuses now, LET'S GET MOVING!

KEEP MOVING

Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, KEEP MOVING! A lot of people these days work in a 9-5 job where they spend the majority of their day sitting at a desk barely moving. Not only does this put you at a higher risk of obesity, it puts you at risk for a lot more illnesses and injuries in the future. So make sure you keep active. Get up, move around. For example, if you are at the beach and everyone is lying around, why not get up and hula hoop, or throw a frizbee!
